Don’t you hate it when VEX shuts down the entire forum with no explanation and brings it back days later, and all the topics against them magically disappeared?

Dont you hate it when you are almost done building your bot and you find out it is not aligned… has happened way to many times.
Don’t you hate it when you cad something and then joint it wrong and your entire robot flips upside down and you got to rotate the robot but realize something isn’t jointed and was temporary and you have to spend a good 5 minutes moving it to the right place? I almost flipped my computer cause this happened to me like twice in a row.

After this, I officially lost all my faith in IFI, and VEX. And reading that newest accusation of Mantz, I just wish this would all be over.

its bad except unless you end up with a super easy schedule at the end of it😌
We had an insane schedule on the second one but for the third one we got a pretty bad schedule
You have a timer so you don’t early expand but forget to turn it off for skills 
You read all the posts on the forum, but you still have 2 notifications.
and then you forget to load the expansion in the next try

Don’t you hate it when your new robot’s drivetrain uses blue cart motors, but three of them are on the old robot, and the remaining blue cart motors don’t run smoothly, so the secondary engineer forces you to stop building as you’re forbidden from disassembling the old robot?
well… don’t tell him i did this but i just swapped the slightly broken motors with good ones that were on the old robot lol.

My team managed to somehow managed to win a tournament with this happening to one of our alliances robots every eliminations match. (The other team shot out of the field in finals)
My team’s robot’s wheels fell off every match, but we somehow got 5th place alliance. My strategy was to get the rollers, then park so no one else could get the rollers.
The robot has since been rebuilt, the wheels are much more secure this time.
Don’t you hate it when your alliance team’s roller mech just gets pushed off the axel and falls off. And rollers was the only thing they could do to begin with.

Dont you hate it when your team has an abundance of batteries but you can only find two on tournament day so you have to borrow from other teams.
Don’t you hate it when you’re stuck with only 1 battery for the whole season, but then your sister team retires so you end up with 3 for your last tournament before state and you forget you have the other two for the first half the day.
Don’t you hate it when you go to a sig event and break your only air pump on load-in day so you have to ask other teams to borrow theirs every match

Yes I do hate that. We have one of those here in the UK. The robot was designed and possibly even made in China and the “one” team member here has no knowledge of how it works or even how to program it.

Update on the china bot: he lost the uk finals to a really brilliant team, which absolutely made my day. But don’t you hate it when a robot made by adults in china gets judges…

I get you. I have lost the finals 3 times in a row this season.
You are notified that you won an online challenge and have received a worlds qualification with only 5 weeks to fundraise $10k+ and fix up the half disassembled robot. Still a qual tho so better very late than not at all

I thought online challenges usually cover registration costs
Not sure about the other ones, but the follow the path challenge unfortunately doesn’t. Although even if it did my team would still be stuck with air tickets ($4k per person from NZ) plus accomodation and food which is frankly unrealistic especially when we haven’t had any time to fundraise or anything. Just have to look forward to (hopefully) going next year.

Doesn’t actually remove the limit but makes it look like you did and By the time you type <marquee</marquee you’ve already typed enough to remove the limit so it doesn’t matter that you’ve ended the formatted text section.)

I have been doing the exact same thing because my school didn’t register us.
my team has only been doing a competition run by our county for a long time, so my team also has not been registered
The only thing i’ve done is go over to another team’s house and drive for a bit with them
You have to bring padlocks from home and get a key for the main cabinet because kids in other classes can’t figure out how to not mess with s**t that isn’t theirs (a good portion of the stuff in the toolbox and cabinet isn’t school owned it’s personal)
a new chat is added to the forum, and no one uses the rest of the forum anymore

Edit: now I’ll have someone to grind rebuilds with at the robotics room for two weeks before spring break.
It’s my first year in high school and if I didn’t worlds qual I decided I would be fine with it because next season I would have more time (new teammate moving up from middle school). I got burnt out around the start of February for the second time and just decided to not rebuild or anything until maybe after states.
I won state. I will finish the rebuild tomorrow and am looking forward to worlds (except the 7k it is gonna cost my team to go).

Don’t You hate it when your coder decides on what to build (a 7 foot tall blocker bot for under over) without telling the rest of your team and then proceeds to build it in overtime when you are not there instead of working on his Auto coding. (we proceeded to loose every single game in the next comp but still won skills.)
Don’t you hate it when the Vex forum allows unnecessary posts, and spam and then after a week deletes it, but when you make a very nice post about something you made, it gets denied, and you don’t know as a new user that it got denied, and you retry and get muted for 10 days?
